Congratulations to our first group of Tactical Edge 'Full Instructors' who passed out from our first Tactical Edge Instructors course this weekend (28-11-10)
A huge congratulations to our first group of Tactical Edge 'Full Instructors' who qualified on Sunday 28th November! This was the first of our 2 year Instructors Courses, & the final exam tested the Apprentice Instructors on every aspect of their unarmed combatives & skill-at-arms training. Qualified as Full Instructors are; Martin Hewlett, Phil Lear, Lee Faetz, Darren Hunter, Pete McClay, John McIllvaney & Craig Johnstone.
Mark Davies interviewed on the Fred MacAulay show on BBC Radio Scotland
Mark Davies was featured on Fred MacAulay's radio show on BBC Radio Scotland on Thursday 25th. Fred was featuring a segment on Self Defence training, & contacted Mark to come in & give some tips, & to train one of his people in some basic self defence in a short period of time to do live on air.
After a bit of a chat Mark was handed Vicky & given the task to get her ready to kick one of the production teams butts. Mark took Vicky through a basic set of movements & taught her how to defend against a throat grab, & she was FANTASTIC! Come showtime she demolished Scott live on air effortlessly; showing that done correctly it doesn't take years to learn effective self defence skills!
Mark would like to thank the MacAulay & co team for the fun morning, & Vicky for being an amazing student in such a short time, he hopes he'll recover from being beaten around the studio by her in practice before the years end.

New 'Tactical Edge Concepts' instructors courses coming soon!
'Tactical Edge Concepts' courses are our new instructors certifications. They are aimed at Martial Arts Instructors who aren't looking to teach our Tactical Edge system, but who would like to expand what they can teach their students in their existing classes. Our Tactical Edge Concepts courses will cover specific areas of the Tactical Edge system that you can teach as part of your normal classes to expand your students abilities & knowledge.
The first course will be the 'Tactical Edge- Edged Weapons Concepts Instructor' certification. This course will equip Blackbelts & Instructors from ANY style with an effective & comprehensive syllabus to teach within their classes. Because Tactical Edge is a conceptual system, everything we do in the Edged Weapons course can be seamlessly adapted to work with almost any tool; Tactical Flashlight, pen, rolled up magazine etc- even empty hands. We'll cover skill building drills that are great fun, & that turbocharge a students co-ordination in empty hands skills; as well as actual application work.
Our Tactical Edge Concepts instructor certifications are open to Blackbelts & Instructors of ANY style, & are intensive weekend certifications. If you would like to become a certified Tactical Edge- Edged Weapons Concepts Instructor, contact Mark Davies now; as spaces will be very limited!
Tactical Edge Battle Camp was a MASSIVE success!
The first Tactical Edge National Battle Camp was a massive success, with over 40 participants coming from all across the UK for a great weekends training at Marcus Houston's 'Combat Ready' gym in Edinburgh.
Taught by Tactical Edge's founder Mark Davies, & assisted by his cadre of Tactical Edge instructors, the course looked at a wide range of unarmed skills & skill-at-arms training.
We would like to thank everyone who supported the event, & we look forward to making the next Battle Camp in 2011 even bigger!
Mark Davies invited to teach Tactical Edge workshop at the opening of the Trident TKD Academy in Manchester
Mark Davies & Marcus Houston were invited to teach a Tactical Edge workshop as part of the celebrations to mark the opening of Mr James Miley's Trident TaeKwon-Do Academy in Manchester. The Trident TaeKwon-Do Academy is a fantastic facility right in Sale town centre.
Mark & Marcus performed a workshop comprised of a fast moving mixture of skills & drills, starting with unarmed self defence, then Tactical Flashlight, then single stick, & finally some impact weapon defence.
The Grand Opening was a massive success, with the Academy being opened by the Mayor, & with Workshops also being taught by the head of GTUK, Master Oldham; & by Mr John Archer 6th Degree.

This guy has been bootlegging my videos for years now. He is on Amazon and Ebay, selling DVDs as "used" but not our labels or laser engraved originals, bootlegged. Please report any sales to me. LAWSUIT is upcoming and I need Ammo = evidence. Help is needed and rewards for help in swift, sure prosecution as well.

New mini workshop sessions starting soon for Tactical Edge Students
It's sometimes difficult to fit all our skill-at-arms training in to training sessions as much as we'd like; so to boost everyone's training in this important area of Tactical Edge we're going to start running mini workshops on various skill-at-arms topics. These workshops will just be a normal class length, & will be FREE to ANY students of Tactical Edge from ANY of our Tactical Edge classes. The workshops will be taught by Tactical Edge founder Mark Davies. Workshops will run on a Saturday from 2 - 3.30pm, & we hope to put on one a month. We encourage all Tactical Edge students to try to make as many of these as possible, as they will give you a total immersion in our weapons training. The first workshop will be on the use of Single Stick, & we'll confirm the date here soon.
